Glovo, a leading food delivery app, is partnering with electric vehicle (EV) maker Siltech to introduce eco-friendly deliveries in Lagos. This pilot program aims to address the high cost of petrol and environmental concerns by using electric scooters. Glovo will gain access to Siltech's entire EV ecosystem, including charging stations and a time-saving battery swap technology that allows for quick exchanges of drained batteries for fully charged ones.

While the service launch is a few months away, the initial program will begin in Ikate, Lekki, and Victoria Island, leveraging Siltech's existing charging and swap infrastructure. This collaboration promises significant cost reductions for Glovo thanks to a discounted service package from Siltech.

Siltech's recent expansion into a complete EV service ecosystem positions them perfectly for this partnership. They already serve Tesla owners and a growing number of EV users in Lagos.

This innovative approach signifies a major step towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for deliveries in Lagos. By embracing EVs, Glovo can reduce its carbon footprint while cutting operational costs. This partnership could inspire other companies and cities in Nigeria to adopt environmentally friendly transportation solutions.
